Qamari Terms of Use

For the Android app Qamari (prayer times, Hijri calendar and tasbih), package app.qamari.hijri.calendar.tasbih.
Effective 25 October 2026. Published by Morocode LLC.

The short version. Qamari is free, it runs entirely on your phone, and it comes with no promises that it will never fail. Keep your own backups of anything that matters, and use the app for yourself.

Agreeing to these terms

By installing or using Qamari you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app; uninstalling it ends the agreement.

Your licence

Morocode LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Qamari on devices you control, for your own purposes. You may not sell, rent or redistribute the app, and you may not decompile, reverse engineer or modify it except where that right cannot lawfully be restricted. The app, its name, its design and its code remain ours.

What it costs

This version of Qamari is free. It contains no advertising and no purchases. If a future version ever offers paid features, the terms of that purchase will be shown to you before you buy anything, and Google Play will handle the payment and any refund.

Your data is your responsibility

Everything the app holds is stored on your phone. That means we cannot recover it for you. Losing or replacing the phone, uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage removes the data permanently. The app includes an export and backup feature; use it regularly if what you keep in the app matters to you.

The dates and times are a calculation, not a ruling

Qamari shows the Hijri date your country officially follows when it has it, and otherwise works the date out by calculation (Umm al-Qura, the calendar Saudi Arabia prints, or the arithmetic calendar). Announcements can come late or change, and a local mosque or authority may begin a month on a different day. That announcement, not this app, is what counts. The date adjustment in Settings is there so you can bring the whole calendar into line with it.

Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated from the place you set and the method you chose, and the Qibla depends on your phone’s compass, which metal, magnets and cases can disturb. Times can differ by a few minutes from your local mosque’s timetable. Follow your mosque or local authority when they differ, and use the minute adjustments to match them.

Reminders and the adhan depend on your phone allowing them: battery savers, Do Not Disturb, silent mode or a revoked permission can delay or silence them. Qamari tells you when it detects one of these, but it cannot guarantee that a reminder is delivered.

Nothing in Qamari is a religious ruling. The notes beside each day describe what the day is commonly held to be; they are not a fatwa and they do not tell anyone what to do.

Acceptable use

Use Qamari lawfully. Do not use it to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights or privacy, or in any way that would harm another person.

No warranty

Qamari is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that it will run correctly on every device. Android manufacturers restrict background work, notifications and alarms in ways we cannot control or fully work around.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Morocode LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit, time or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use Qamari. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Privacy

How the app handles your information is set out in the Qamari Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes and ending the agreement

We may update these terms when the app changes. The effective date at the top will change, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version. You may stop using Qamari at any time by uninstalling it. We may stop publishing or supporting the app at any time; an app already installed on your phone will keep working as it is.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, where Morocode LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
